At the time of your arrest, the arresting officer will confiscate your license and issue a pink “Notice of Suspension,” which grants you driving privileges for the next 30 days. If you do not request a DMV Hearing within 10 days of your arrest, your license will be suspended at the end of the 30-day period. If you win your DMV Hearing, you may not lose your license at all.
Additionally, if you have an ignition interlock device (IID) installed soon after your arrest, you may retain restricted driving privileges which allow you to drive under limited circumstances. If you do not install the IID within 30 days, and you do not win your DMV hearing, your license will be suspended 30 days after your arrest.
